Clearfield City Council voted unanimously to approve Ordinance 2026-03, changing zoning for Davis County-owned parcels at approximately 160 South Depot from UR (Urban Residential) to CV (Civic).
Tyson, the city staff presenter, said the parcels have been county-owned for some time and that the county plans to demolish an existing service-center building and build a new public-service/office facility of similar footprint. Tyson said rezoning to CV brings the parcels into alignment with the general-plan land-use designation and with neighboring civic uses such as the health department and library, and that the planning commission recommended approval.
The council opened and closed the public hearing; no public comment was offered. A council member moved to approve Ordinance 2026-03 and authorize the mayor to sign necessary documents; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously with recorded aye votes from Council members Worth, Taussman, King, Peterson and Ashford and the mayor noting the vote was unanimous.
The ordinance authorizes the rezone; site demolition and building plans will follow applicable development-review procedures and any required county approvals.
