The Bethel Park School District’s technology director outlined multiple infrastructure and security upgrades Monday, reporting a completed high‑school network overhaul, new classroom equipment plans for elementary schools and expanded campus security monitoring.
"Everything from the wireless access points to the edge switching all the way down to the core switching" at the high school has been upgraded, the technology director said, adding that the district is working with fiber provider DQE to extend a connection from the high school to an elementary campus to provide redundancy and a secondary backup location in case of damage to the primary site.
