He said he located a crank that accompanies the net and returned it to city hall and urged staff to consider installing a protective barrier—he suggested a "chicken wire fence" or concrete-mounted posts to prevent vehicles from entering the courts and damaging equipment.
Teddy told the commission he had a city staff member inspect the damage and that staff subsequently removed the posts. He urged the city to install a physical deterrent to keep vehicles from driving onto the courts from nearby 95th Street and to protect the courts after hours.
The commission acknowledged the report; no formal motion or vote was recorded on this item. Staff did not give a specific timetable for repairs or for installing new protective infrastructure during the Feb. 5 meeting.
