City recognizes Phil Sinner after 18 years producing council broadcasts

At the start of the Jan. 29 meeting, Anna Benson of the communications department honored Phil Sinner on his retirement after 18 years with the City of Lynchburg and decades working in the City Hall building. Benson credited Sinner with producing and streaming "more than 500 city council meetings," modernizing the city's broadcast systems and quietly supporting meetings across boards and commissions. The mayor presented Sinner with a bronzed microphone in recognition of his service.
Sinner offered brief remarks thanking colleagues who hired and supported him and named staff who will carry on broadcast duties. Colleagues said they appreciated his calm presence and technical skill and wished him well in retirement.
