Omaha Planning Board approves long consent agenda, several items pulled for discussion

The Omaha Planning Board approved a large consent agenda that bundled rezonings, conditional-use permits and preliminary plats, voting unanimously on the packaged items. Chairman Michael Pate read the list of consent cases, which included multiple city property dispositions and amendments to mixed-use development agreements.
The board noted that several items were removed from consent for separate consideration. Those pulled items included the Tukey Heights preliminary plat and the Pacific Hills Lutheran Church sign amendment. When taken as a block, the consent motion carried 6-0, with the board later taking the removed items up in regular order.
Staff identified the consent package as largely noncontroversial or previously discussed and recommended approval. The boards recording secretary read the roll call for the consent motion and recorded the unanimous vote. Many individual cases approved on consent will still go to the city council for final action as required, except for conditional use permits that are final at the board level.
