The Columbia County Planning Commission approved a slate of routine and quasi-routine items including an architectural review, an operator’s license, several temporary-use authorizations, and multiple minor waivers and variances.
Key approvals included:
- Architectural review for Precision Maintenance (91 Bridal Way) — staff recommended approval and the commission approved the architectural elevations and site concept.
- Operator’s license for Rosewater Spa and Wellness (620 Ponder Place) — staff said the applicant met ordinance standards and the commission approved the operator’s license.
- Temporary use authorizations to permit on-site manufactured homes or campers during construction at 6956 Moontown Drive and 1003 Robert Moore Road; a TUA to place a storage container at 7101 Moontown Road was also approved.
- Minor waivers for 12 lots in the Crawford Creek South development to permit narrow wall intrusions into side setbacks; developer Ivy Residential/Basin Development explained the house plan widths and the commission approved the waivers with the applicant’s commitment to adjust measurement practices.
- Variances approved with conditions included a reduced setback for an accessory structure at 127 Old Evans Road (conditions include compliance with building/fire standards and as-built survey requirements) and a lakeside lot variance at 7339 Lakeside Drive (fire-code and as-built survey conditions). A variance request related to a draft parcel at Winifie Parkway (Blue Marble daycare buffer) was recommended for approval with conditions after the applicant explained pending master-developer actions and offered an 8-foot fence and reduced playground encroachment.
These items were processed largely per staff recommendations; several approvals included conditions to ensure compliance with building standards, fire-code requirements, as-built surveys and photometric plans where lighting or buffers were a concern.
Ending
The meeting closed with no legal matters outstanding and the commission adjourned following the routine items.
