Old courthouse hallway to be sheetrocked, historic paint color approved; May art crawl cleared for courthouse square

The committee voted to approve a paint color that staff said was discovered under later paint layers and is believed to be close to the original hue.
During the same meeting, Linda Gaines requested permission to use the courthouse and surrounding square for an art crawl on May 2 called “April showers bring me flowers.” Miss Watkins moved to approve the request and Miss Hollenworth seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote.
Committee members also discussed use of Courthouse Square for privately donated benches; staff were directed to ask applicants to submit renderings and to match the style of existing benches where appropriate.
