At their Feb. 4 meeting, Norfolk County commissioners approved routine personnel and fiscal items, including the appointment of Jenna Lesko as assistant superintendent for business at the Norfolk County Agricultural High School and several payroll and warrant payments.
Commissioner (speaker 2) moved to appoint Jenna Lesko as assistant superintendent for business at the rate stated, effective Feb. 5, 2026; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Earlier, the board approved an address-change motion for Jane Ingle related to her instructor role at the Agricultural High School.
On fiscal matters, the commission approved payroll account 26-31 in the amount of $141,856.39 and a school payroll item 26-3116 for $400,734.76, along with county expense items reported in the warrant list. A US Bank payment for the NCAHS loan in the amount of $21,800 was also approved.
Procurement staff requested approval of a temporary staff appointment for the RSVP program pending federal grant confirmation. Monique Allman introduced herself, described her workforce-development background and said she was eager to support veterans' transportation and related volunteer-driven services. The board approved a temporary contract for the RSVP coordinator position with a contract limit described in the meeting as "not to exceed $50,000" through June, contingent on funding; staff said they will convert the role to a full-time appointment if the anticipated AmeriCorps grant is awarded.
County procurement and administration staff also described an audit correction related to an ARPA award for the town of Brookline: a transposition error resulted in a $270 discrepancy; staff notified the town manager and will correct federal reporting records.
County Director (speaker 3) reported that recent federal continuing-resolution action appears to have preserved AmeriCorps funding and that a solicitation for three-year grants is expected imminently; the county intends to apply. Director (speaker 3) also previewed the FY27 budget schedule and said department budget meetings will begin in the next two weeks and will be held in the Aggie disaster-recovery room.
The meeting closed after routine business and a motion to adjourn.
