The Pinetop Lakeside Town Council approved a call of election for its 2026 primary and general elections by adopting resolution number 26‑1800.
Mackenzie, the elections staff member, told the council that the primary date as published might move by one to two weeks and that, "if it moves up 2 weeks, then the, filing period would be, February 23." She confirmed the mayor and three council seats will be on the ballot and encouraged early pickup and return of candidate packets.
Councilors discussed whether to reference a specific calendar date in the motion given possible state scheduling changes; staff said they could issue a memo rather than requiring the council to revisit the call if the state shifted the primary. The motion to authorize the call (primary to be held in conjunction with state dates and the general on 11/03/2026) passed unanimously by voice vote; individual tallies were not recorded in the transcript.
