The Apopka City Council voted to award the enterprise resource planning (ERP) and enterprise asset management (EAM) contract to Tyler Technologies following a three-stage evaluation process and on-site demonstrations. The consultant and evaluation committee recommended Tyler as the best and final offer after scoring vendors; staff presented an implementation budget of about $3.8 million and asked the council to add roughly $1.4 million to existing appropriation to cover the project.
Consultant Shyam Duram told the council the city currently operates many standalone systems and spreadsheets—some systems are eight to 20 years old—and that a single integrated cloud-based ERP/EAM would reduce duplicate data entry, improve audit trails, and provide real-time reporting. The implementation is expected to be an 18-month effort with an intended go-live at the start of the fiscal year (October 1). The evaluation committee scored Tyler Technologies highest after demonstrations and a best-and-final-offer phase.
Finance Director Blanche Sherman said the procurement and contract steps would be followed by data conversion, integrations, business-process reengineering, user acceptance testing and staff training. Council approved the award and directed staff to finalize contracts and scope work with the selected vendor.
