County approves SHIP and general-purpose state grants for senior services

Sain said the county received $8,045 for SHIP this year, with no county match required, and that the award will enable the senior center to provide free, neutral Medicare counseling to residents — including enrollment help and assistance with prescription drug coverage and low-income subsidy applications.
Sain also described recurring state general-purpose funds for senior centers. She said Lincoln County, designated a "senior center of excellence," received three shares totaling $10,971; a 25% county match is required.
