Commission approves rezoning for Gateway Center at 1100 Banyan Boulevard

On Feb. 2 the West Palm Beach City Commission approved the second reading of Ordinance 51‑63‑26 to rezone the Gateway Center generally located at 1100 Banyan Boulevard from Commercial Plan Development (CPD) to Clear Lake District 25 (CLD 25) under the downtown master plan.
Claudia Evans, city urban designer in the planning division, told the commission there were no changes since the first reading and that the applicant was present for questions. The ordinance was read into the record by the city clerk and the commission adopted it on the basis of the application, staff report, planning board recommendation and downtown advisory committee findings that the rezoning complies with the city’s amendment standards.
The change formally adopts the existing downtown master-plan zoning for the property and clears the requested planning status change from CPD to the CLD 25 subdistrict. There was no public comment and the motion carried unanimously on second reading.
