The Colony lays out 2026 parks and recreation programs; summer camp registration open

Parks and Recreation staff briefed The Colony City Council Jan. 6 on the department’s 2026 programs and registration dates.

Lindsay Stancil, recreation manager, said the spring catalog is available at the recreation center, library, senior center and online at playtc.com. Staff opened registration for the summer kids camp, which runs 11 weeks beginning May 26 and has capacity for roughly 100 children; Stancil reported 27 registrations at the time of the meeting and said the camp will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the senior center location, 4431 Augusta Street. Stancil encouraged early registration and noted available payment plans.

Senior programming resumes day trips (January dates to Choctaw Casino were announced), a 'Ducks in a Row' resource program for seniors begins Jan. 14, and a Sweetheart Ball is scheduled for Feb. 21 at The Colony Senior Center with tickets and optional corsages available through a partnership with Legacy Rose.

Athletics staff reported more than 30 youth basketball teams registered and multiple adult leagues; field reservations for spring are being accepted and staff pointed to playtcsports.com for league schedules and registration. Aquatics registration is open for private lessons and the Shark Fin swim team; staff reported 112 students enrolled in lessons and nine students in the adaptive swim program, and previewed a new Splash Squad water polo skills program resuming mid‑January.

Stancil directed residents to playtc.com and the recreation center or senior center for registration and questions; the department provided a phone number (972‑625‑1106).
