The Colony's finance department on Monday announced it received the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the city's fiscal year 2026 budget. Finance Director Ryan introduced the award and presented it to Accounting Manager Stacy Davis, who accepted it on behalf of the finance team.
"I'm honored to accept this on behalf of the entire finance team," Davis said, thanking colleagues and singling out Tim Miller for his guidance during the budget process. Finance Director Ryan said the award recognizes the city's work to make the budget clear and accessible to residents and credited both council goal-setting and the broader finance staff.
The award is intended to recognize comprehensive and readable municipal budgeting documents; city staff said preparations for the next budget are already underway. No formal action was required of the council; the presentation was placed on the consent/recognition portion of the agenda.
The council meeting continued with other routine items after the recognition.
