Knox County Beer Board approves minutes, fines two stores and defers 4 Corner Market to March

The Knox County Beer Board convened Feb. 24, approved the prior meeting minutes, addressed three violation items and concluded routine business.
After the Pledge of Allegiance, the board approved the minutes (motion by Commissioner Jay, second by Commissioner Hill). The board heard three violation items: Gap Creek Market (first offense) and Pioneer Market (second offense) both pleaded guilty to selling alcohol to an underage person during Jan. 27 compliance checks and accepted civil penalties ($1,000 and $1,500, respectively). The board attempted to hear 4 Corner Market but no representative was present; following staff recommendation the board voted to defer that item to the March agenda.
With no other business, Commissioner Hill moved to adjourn, Commissioner Thompson seconded, and the meeting was adjourned.
