The board noted this was Pioneer Market’s second offense; under county procedures a second offender may accept a $1,500 civil penalty or a 60-day license suspension. The respondent said the employee involved was removed from duty.
Commissioner Rawls moved to impose the $1,500 fine; Commissioner Jay seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all commissioners recorded in favor.
The board reiterated that repeated violations can bring higher penalties, including a $2,000 civil penalty or a 90-day suspension for a third offense. The clerk’s office will follow up with the respondent on payment and compliance steps.
