Gretchen Noad appeared before the Knox County commission as an applicant for the Community Health Alliance Board and described her qualifications, saying she approaches the role as a community member and as a coach who helps people integrate health and wellness into daily life.
"I'm primarily working with mindset, with health and wellness, with being able to integrate the things with the reality of life," Noad said, describing coaching work that includes diet, exercise and practical strategies for single parents, small-business owners and others who face barriers to healthier lifestyles. She also described operating a regenerative farm with pasture-raised meats and organic vegetables.
Noad said she applied to the board to learn more about the role and to bring perspectives from coaching and local agriculture. Commissioners thanked her for applying and said they would take a vote on her appointment at next week's meeting. Noad was allotted five minutes to address the commission; no questions were raised at length and no formal action was taken at this optional review session.
