Allegany County commissioners authorized the county administrator to sign a $200,000 contract to sell 6 acres at 17411 McMullen Highway in Rawlings, part of the former Cumberland Chase property.
Mr. Barclay said the site includes frontage on Route 220, barns and land intended for parking, and that the proposed first phase would include a restaurant and meeting space. He said talks began earlier in 2025 and that an additional 6 acres could be added to the sale depending on how the project proceeds. Staff and commissioners noted the sale is contingent on follow-through with the phase 1 plan.
The board approved the authorization by voice vote.
