Finance committee recommends AMN contract for CEO search

The Hospital Authority finance committee on Nov. 20 recommended that the full board approve a five-year contract with AMN Leadership Solutions to run an executive search for a new chief executive officer.
Hospital leadership and members of the evaluation committee said the public RFP drew 10 proposals and that AMN scored highest across the selection criteria. Nzirue, who presented the item, said AMN’s proposal included substantial community engagement to gather stakeholder input on the skills and qualities the hospital needs in its next CEO. "AMN Leadership Solutions scored the highest of all of the proposers," Nzirue said.
Under the proposed contract AMN would receive a fee equal to 29% of the baseline salary of the executive placed. Presenters said the contract also establishes AMN as the hospital’s available vendor for future executive-level searches.
Committee members noted the hospital had used AMN for prior executive searches, including the recruitment that led to the prior CEO about a decade ago, and pressed presenters on the vendor-selection process. Hospital staff described a scoring and cost-evaluation process led primarily by hospital leadership and supported by an evaluation panel.
The committee moved and seconded a recommendation that the board approve the AMN contract; the motion carried. The item will be forwarded to the board for final approval.
