Brentwood names Julie Wilson finance director

Julie Wilson, the city’s assistant finance director and a Certified Public Accountant, has been promoted to finance director effective Jan. 20, Speaker 1 announced at the start of the commission briefing. Wilson has worked with the city for more than five years and holds a Certified Municipal Finance Officer credential.
Speaker 1 said the promotion shortens the learning curve for the top finance role because Wilson already knows city systems and staff. Commissioners expressed appreciation and congratulated Wilson; staff said they will begin recruiting to fill the assistant finance director vacancy and will move forward with hiring the budget administrator the commission previously authorized.
No formal vote was recorded in the briefing; staff indicated a public notice and broader communication to city employees and the public would follow.
