The School Committee approved two out-of-state overnight trips for the Westwood High School quiz-bowl team: a trip to Atlanta, Georgia (May 22–24, 2026, qualification pending) and a trip to Rosemont, Illinois (June 6–7, 2026, qualifying underway). A member moved and seconded the motion and the chair called the vote; the chair stated the vote was unanimous.
The committee also approved a motion to appoint Le Ma Jean Baptiste as a temporary voting member of the Permanent Building Committee for a one-year term to support work on the Westwood High School roofing project. Committee members noted the town moderator needs a certificate of appointment that specifies the term; the committee approved a one-year term and the chair called the vote unanimous.
