The Woodlands Township board on Nov. 19 ceremonially swore in three newly elected directors and paid tribute to outgoing director Anne Snyder, who completed five terms and served as board chair in 2023–24.
Judge Lisa Michalk of the 221st District Court administered the oath of office to Adam Lamb, Cindy Heizer and Shelly Sekula Gibbs after the board approved the state-provided forms of oath and official bonds. Lamb, newly seated, told the board he was honored and pledged to "do everything I can to serve every resident of this community." The board also took a photo opportunity to mark the occasion.
The board then elected officers for the coming year by written (non-secret) ballot. Brad Bailey was chosen as chairman, Craig Eisler as vice chairman, Linda Nelson as secretary and Richard Franks as treasurer; the slate was approved by voice vote.
Members of the public and multiple board colleagues offered tributes to Anne Snyder. Speakers credited Snyder with leadership on public-safety funding, nonprofit partnerships, employee benefits restoration, refinancing debt to reduce interest costs, and programs such as Veggie Village and Serving Our Seniors. Former staff and community leaders described Snyder as a consensus-builder and an effective fundraiser and manager who prioritized employees and public safety. Snyder, in turn, described her service as the product of board teamwork and expressed gratitude to staff and residents.
Next steps: The newly seated directors will assume board duties immediately; the board also appointed the new directors to the Woodlands Township Economic Development Zone during the meeting.
