The commission read a notice that the county received a petition to vacate the county‑maintained section of DeWitt Cave Road — described in the notice as roughly 1,320 feet along the center line from the intersection with Tabor Hollow Road to the end of the county‑maintained roadway — and set a public hearing for 9 a.m. April 2, 2026, in the Administration Building courtroom at 100 W. Church Street in Ozark. The county described the reading as a general description and said it is not an official legal description; written remonstrances may be filed at or before the hearing.
The commission also read notice of a petition to vacate two portions of Riverside Road: a portion beginning at the south intersection of Riverside Park Trail and the former Riverside Bridge right of way and another portion related to historic Riverside Bridge right of way that was combined with a new right of way in 2020. That petition was likewise scheduled for the April 2 hearing.
A speaker noted a typographical error in the draft Riverside notice, where a pasted line misidentified the road name; the county said the text would be corrected in the published notices and on the materials provided to petitioners for posting.
The notices cited the statutory posting and publication requirements (Section 228.110.2, RSMo) for right‑of‑way vacation proceedings. Interested persons will be invited to present testimony and evidence at the April 2 hearing.
