Commissioner Newman, whose ward includes the property, described surrounding uses — retail on one side and offices on the other — and said he did not have objections to the rezoning. "I don't really have any objections to this," Newman said, noting an existing car wash across the street and compatibility with neighboring commercial uses.
The commission moved and seconded a recommendation to City Council; the motion carried and the item will proceed to council review.
