Public safety oversight board approves minutes, issues letters of support for multiple complaint cases and defers one to February

Unidentified Speaker, the meeting moderator, called the Community Public Safety Advisory Board to order at its first 2026 meeting and outlined the board’s role in reviewing complaint investigations involving Oklahoma City public safety officers.

The board approved minutes from the Dec. 9, 2025 advisory forum after a motion and second; the moderator announced, "It passes." The meeting then moved to Item 3: public comment. After the closed session, the moderator reported the board had voted to issue letters of support for a group of cases whose identifiers were read during the meeting. The moderator also said the board deferred one case (spoken as "0120 07") to the February meeting and issued a letter of recommendation for another case (spoken as "0120O5"). The moderator reiterated the board’s mandate to review investigative processes and completed administrative investigations, including policies and procedures of the Oklahoma City Police Department, and to provide recommendations to the Chief of Police.
