During its Jan. 13 meeting the Brookhaven City Council approved multiple routine and project-related measures and recessed into an executive session for potential litigation.
Appointments and consent: The mayor reported appointments of Pete Stobbe and Jeff Kammer to the advisory audit committee; the council moved, seconded and approved the related resolutions and then approved the consent agenda items 1–3 by voice vote.
Easements for greenway construction: City staff presented resolutions ratifying the city’s purchase of temporary construction easements and a permanent easement to support Petrie Creek Greenway Phase 2 at two properties, and a separate resolution approving a temporary construction easement in the Lake Huron area. The city attorney confirmed that temporary construction easements revert to the property owner after the project is complete. Council moved, seconded and approved each easement resolution.
Executive session: Before adjourning the public portion, a councilmember moved that the body enter executive session for potential litigation; the motion was seconded and approved and the meeting recessed into closed session.
