South Carolina House to read prefiled bills; no votes or new bills scheduled today

The presiding officer told members they could leave the chamber during the bill readings, saying, "we're not gonna read any bills that are new, and there are gonna be no votes taken, no action, no motions received." Members were directed to consult the online committee listings for assignments.
House leaders also announced the schedule for subcommittee meetings after adjournment, including the public education and special schools subcommittee and the constitutional subcommittee (rescheduled to Wednesday, 12–2 p.m.). Representative Chandra Dillard promoted the Riley Wilkins Leadership Awards reception that evening; Representative Herb Kuzman reminded members of the South Carolina Bankers Association reception at 5:30 p.m. The House accepted the January invitations on a motion by Representative Forrest and later approved a motion to adjourn; the presiding officer declared the session adjourned.
No legislative action — such as votes on bills or motions to refer — occurred during this session; the clerk will continue formal referral of prefiled items as previously assigned.
