The Lockport Township High School District 205 Board of Education used part of its Dec. 15 meeting to recognize recent student accomplishments, from athletics to national academic honors.
The board honored the Lockport Girls Varsity Volleyball Team for placing third at the IHSA Class 3A State finals. The district also recognized two students named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists and highlighted a student who scored a perfect 36 on the ACT. James Wyatt, student board member, presented the recognitions and said they “show what it means to be a Porter.”
In the principals’ report, Dr. JJ and Dr. Green described holiday activities across the East and Central campuses and called attention to recent student work, including a Madrigal performance and a library “Museo in Vivo” produced by AP Spanish and literature students. District leaders framed the items as examples of student engagement beyond classroom testing.
No budget figures, follow-up actions or formal motions related to these recognitions were presented during the brief. The board will reconvene in January; there were no votes recorded on these agenda items.
“Go Porters!” Wyatt concluded as he closed the meeting brief.
