Doorwater staff outline bridge and road schedules, utility relocations

At the Jan. 27, 2026 Doorwater Management Commission meeting, staff gave updates on several bridge and roadway projects, noting utility coordination, right-of-entry work and target construction dates.
Speaker 3 said the Bad Pack Road Bridge team held a utility coordination meeting and confirmed that utility plan review timelines (about 75–90 days) are in process. "We are gonna get right of entry on the left side of the bridge where utility poles are going to be relocated," Speaker 3 said, adding that the work is intended to meet a May 29 schedule milestone.
On Rudy Road, Speaker 3 said pre-construction meetings were held with Ellis Construction and that a memorandum of understanding covering the Whispering Sands portion will be presented at the commissioners' meeting; staff is aiming for a Jan. 28 completion date for some scheduled work, weather permitting, and additional relocations are planned for February.
Speaker 3 also provided dates for other projects: Bridge 132's contract shows a completion date of Aug. 7, and work on Mineral Springs Road is scheduled to start Feb. 2. Speaker 4 asked for confirmation of those dates and Speaker 3 affirmed them in the meeting.
Speaker 3 said staff has been contacting subdivisions and HOAs about work along 200 West. Speaker 4 relayed that a resident had contacted staff on Facebook to criticize the approach, saying "we're doing it all wrong." Speaker 3 said the resident was invited to the meeting but did not attend.
What this means: utility relocations, right-of-entry agreements and MOUs remain on the near-term to-do list for staff as they work to keep projects on their target schedules.
