Melhoff noted Huizenga’s prior Lottery Commission service from 2018 to 2024 and his participation with local economic and civic groups.
With those endorsements, the Senate voted by roll call to advise and consent. The president declared the appointment confirmed after the clerk reported 34 yeas with one senator excused.
The appointment will take effect according to statute governing commission terms and vacancies; no additional conditions or amendments were recorded on the Senate floor.
