LINDON, Utah — Lindon City Council voted Jan. 20 to award the 2026 street paving contract to Black Forest Paving for a recommended amount of roughly $1,190,000.
Public Works staff explained the package includes multiple neighborhood segments (including 600 North and areas behind Low Book) and a mix of treatments: pulverize-and-stabilize concrete-treated base where needed, microsurfacing subcontracted to Geneva Rock for some segments, and bolt replacement on water valves. Staff said references for the apparent low bidder checked out and that the city requires bonding to protect completion.
Council member Cole Hooley moved to award the contract; council member Steve Stewart seconded. The motion passed with the council answering "Aye" and the mayor declaring the award approved.
The contract is scheduled for construction in spring and summer of 2026; staff noted potential contingency needs for traffic-calming elements (speed bumps) where resurfacing could increase vehicular speeds in neighborhoods.
