Hanover Park swears in full-time firefighter/paramedic; mayor proclaims February Black History Month

Mayor Rodney S. Craig introduced and swore in Firefighter Paramedic Ugalde, recognizing his completion of rookie school on Dec. 19, 2025, paramedic training through Central DuPage Hospital (paramedic licensure dated Jan. 18, 2023), and assignment to the Gold Shift under Battalion Chief Garrett Cody. The mayor and board welcomed the new full-time firefighter and invited family members to join for photos.
Later in the meeting the mayor read a proclamation declaring February 2026 as Black History Month in the Village of Hanover Park and announced a Black History Month presentation hosted by the Sister Cities Committee on Saturday, Feb. 21 at My Celebration Party Room, 1190 Lake Street, with a start time of 9 a.m.
