Applicant Kyle Simmons described the business as sheet-metal fabrication and welding, said most powder-coating work is sent to an off-site coater and that in-house powder-coating use is small and managed with filtration, and stated he has nine employees. Simmons said the businesses are inspected regularly and that the fire department inspects his locations every six months.
Council Member Hill moved to approve the business license; Council Member Craig seconded. With no further discussion, the council voted and the motion carried.
Next steps: City staff will finalize licensing paperwork and welcome the business to Hooper City.
