Council receives draft emergency operations plan; asks members to review ahead of January meeting

Several council members raised specific hazard concerns (for example, irrigation canals and potential dam-failure impacts) and asked that those be added to the hazard/mitigation sections. Harris asked that comments be returned quickly and said the emergency-preparedness group meets the third Wednesday of each month and will incorporate feedback.
Quotes from the presentation included an explanation of Everbridge and the EOP's intent to follow national incident management systems: “Everbridge is a notification...this county has adopted. It's in a place of what used to be red code,” and the plan premise: the plan assumes “the community will be on its own for a period of time.”
