Planning commission defers docket item 7 at applicant sk; Brown signals objections if it returns unchanged

The Alexandria Planning Commission voted unanimously Feb. 3 to defer docket item 7 after the applicant requested more time.
Vice Chair Koenig moved to defer the item and Commissioner Ramirez seconded the motion. Commissioner Brown said he would support the deferral but told colleagues that if the case returns as a three‑lot proposal he would oppose it, citing ordinance section 12‑1000 and the city'5‑foot height limit.
"That provision is fatal to this application," Brown said during the discussion, urging the applicant to consider a resubdivision into two lots to avoid conflicts with the lot‑width and height provisions.
Chair Melissa McMahon said the deferral was not to a date certain and that the applicant wants flexibility about when to return. The motion to defer carried 7‑0.
Next steps: the item remains open and will be scheduled when the applicant requests to return to the commission.
