Williamsburg County Council on Tuesday adopted Ordinance No. 2024-03, authorizing the issuance of a Water Works and Sewer System Improvement Revenue Bond for the county in an amount not to exceed $8,319,000.
The ordinance, described by the presiding member as providing for the form, payment and disposition of bond proceeds for water and sewer system improvements, was introduced for a third reading and adopted after a motion, second and a voice vote in favor.
Council also approved Resolution No. 2024-02, which designates April 2024 as Fair Housing Month in Williamsburg County and restates the county's rejection of housing discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, disability or familial status. The resolution notes the state's Fair Housing law, enacted in 1989, and passed by a voice vote.
In addition to the formal measures, the meeting record shows the council accepted the minutes of the March 19, 2024 meeting by voice vote and adjourned after routine business. No roll-call tallies were read aloud for these measures; the record reflects voice votes and motions recorded as carried.
