"We're still looking at at every possible way we can figure out how to deal with some of these private roads, especially ones where we have issues with with getting emergency foot down," a public works committee member reported.
The committee moved to send information to the county administrator and asked staff to return with recommendations on how to handle private-road maintenance and emergency access problems. The chair called a voice vote and the council approved the referral.
No timeline or funding amount was announced at the meeting; committee members said the matter will return to the council after staff prepares options. The council did not adopt a policy or commit new funds at the Sept. 10 session.
