Wheat Ridge adopts 2026 legislative agenda, adds governance and special districts priorities

At the Feb. 9 meeting the Wheat Ridge City Council adopted its 2026 legislative agenda by unanimous vote. Mayor Pro Tem Hultin described updates to the draft agenda introduced at prior meetings: the addition of "governance" within a home‑rule section to reflect bills affecting local governance, and elevating special districts and utilities as a separate line item because of the number of pending bills that affect city priorities.
Hultin also noted a committee staff transition—Amanda Harrison will serve as committee staff designee—and said the committee will begin drafting potential bills at an upcoming meeting. The council voted 8‑0 to adopt the agenda.
