The Norwalk Board of Estimate and Taxation on Feb. 9 approved a $275,000 special capital appropriation to start engineering, design and research on the conservatory at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion.
The appropriation, which the board approved by voice vote, will be transferred from surplus funds in the combined dispatch communications upgrade capital project and will be established as a new account if the city council approves the measure. The funds are intended to pay for preliminary engineering and design work ahead of a larger capital request in the FY26–27 budget.
