Atascosa County Commissioners Court voted Feb. 9 to approve an updated interlocal agreement with the City of Pleasanton covering fire protection and first-responder services and to accept fiscal-year 2026–27 service contracts for nine volunteer fire departments and Pleasanton Fire Department.
Fire Marshal Bridal Sanchez told the court the contracts are up for renewal and that all nine volunteer fire departments have signed; he recommended approval. The court moved and approved the interlocal agreement (motion by Commissioner Gillespie, second by Commissioner Eustace) and later approved the FY 2026–27 fire service contracts for AtterBear, Black Hill, Campbellton Paisano, Charlotte, Christine, Jordan, Lemming, Poteet, Rossville volunteer departments and the City of Pleasanton Fire Department.
The approvals were recorded by motion and were presented as routine renewals necessary for continued fire-protection coverage across Atascosa County. No new funding increases were requested at the meeting; the item was presented as contract renewals and administrative approvals.
