Orland Park board approves water-main repair, fleet purchases, pool upgrades and bidder-rule changes

The Orland Park Village Board on Monday approved several measures intended to maintain core services and advance local infrastructure, Mayor Jim Dodge said. Key approvals included a contract to line a failing water main in the Crystal Tree neighborhood, the purchase of replacement public-works and police vehicles (including an electric utility vehicle for the Orland Park Emergency Management Agency), and plans to renovate the Orland Park Aquatic Center.

The meeting also identified legislative priorities for the village’s lobbyists in Springfield — including infrastructure funding, intersection upgrades and sustainable pension funding — and authorized a firm to assess the former Riviera Country Club property to determine whether it could someday be repurposed like the village Sportsplex.
