Items approved on the consent agenda included payment of routine bills, acknowledgment of the sheriff’s and treasurer’s monthly reports, and approval of a BOCC letter supporting a Colorado Opioid Abatement Council grant application seeking $746,600 to support a second co‑response team; staff noted there is no required local match for that grant request. Commissioners also ratified an MOU with Colorado Circular Communities (a nonprofit/technical assistance entity) for waste audits at the county landfill to inform future waste diversion policy and projects.
Separately, the board approved an amendment to a 2022 Common Ground grant for the Tienvar/T N Bar Cattle Company, allowing $10,000 of remaining grant funds to be used to install an additional pipe and water tank to extend an existing well project on a Forest Service allotment; staff said the original deliverables were completed.
County staff also presented an updated memorandum of understanding with Colorado State University Extension describing roles and services (4‑H programming, master gardener assistance, well and radon testing, greenhouse and food‑security work) and said the MOU will go to CSU general counsel for review before returning to the board for ratification within about a month.
