County social-services staff describe family-education and family-development programs, funding through 2026 and 2030

The family-education program offers three evidence-based classes (Nurturing Parenting, Nurturing Fathers, Parent Toolkit for children 9'14) to strengthen protective factors and reduce risky adolescent behavior; the program uses funding from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment and TANF, supporting specific enrollment targets (e.g., 40 participants in nurturing parenting, 15 parent/caregivers through home visits and 12 pro-social activities) and a grant that runs through 06/30/2026.
The family-development program provides intensive case management for families experiencing housing instability or at risk of child-welfare involvement. Staff reported Bezos funding through August 2026 and additional family-resource funding through 2030 that together support immediate stabilization and longer-term services including rent subsidies, deposit assistance, transportation and education supports.
Commissioners thanked the team and asked clarifying questions about grant durations and sustainability; staff said the Bezos grant is intended to be seed funding and that state and federal funding dynamics are being monitored for future sustainability.
