At its meeting, the Common Ground advisory committee reviewed financial projections and administrative items, received updates on the Working Lands request for qualifications and applicant survey, and set the timeline for policy review and officer nominations.
Speaker 2 presented cash-flow projections prepared by Dan Shore from the county, reporting that the fund balance was "approximating 1000000 dollars this month" and noting a $50,000 placeholder for Working Lands that had not been dispersed because a contract has not yet been awarded. The committee treated the projections as informational and did not take a vote on the fund balance.
Gabe provided county updates and said staff have conducted two more interviews for the Working Lands coordinator RFQ; he noted Maverick Solutions (Fort Collins) performed well in interviews but that a selection had not yet been finalized. Gabe also described preliminary discussions about partnering with the Upper Arkansas Conservation District and GuideStone Colorado to cover the range of skills called for in the RFQ.
Betsy and Diana walked the committee through the criteria-review timeline. Anna reported the applicant survey had been sent to more than 100 past applicants and had produced 11 responses so far; staff will make another push in early December to increase response rates. The policy review item was postponed to the December agenda so Miles and county staff can confirm that proposed policy language does not conflict with internal county policies.
Members also discussed administrative items: officer nominations for one-year terms will be opened and finalized at the December meeting (vice chair and secretary), and the committee discussed proposed 2026 meeting dates (proposed January 27, February 24 and March 24) and a possible April summit that may require rescheduling. The committee closed the meeting with brief social planning and an agreement to revisit scheduling in the new year.
