North Syracuse board hears capital project update; Lakeshore Elementary set to reopen this spring

Matt Erwin, the district’s director of facilities, told the North Syracuse Central School District Board of Education on Feb. 12, 2026, that phase two of the high school capital project is in closeout and the new gymnasium is fully open. “Our new gym is fully open,” Erwin said, and the district plans a ribbon cutting at the auditorium ahead of the next show.
Erwin said pool structural steel is wrapping up with one to two weeks of small bracing remaining and that crews will continue work on locker rooms, the mezzanine and the mechanical room while pool excavation proceeds. He…
