The Select Board voted unanimously on Feb. 9 to adopt an updated schedule of fees for the sealer of weights and measures, following a presentation by the finance director. The changes implement the state's fee table plus a 25% local overhead for billing and inspection administration.
The sealer program verifies commercial measuring devices โ pumps, deli scales and other meters โ and is aimed at protecting consumers and businesses from financial loss due to inaccurate equipment. The board cited M.G.L. c.40, s.22F as authority to update and adopt the fee schedule.
The motion was moved by Laura Zieten and seconded by Mike Tietjen. All members voted aye.
