Lee County approves special-use permit to place manufactured home in Village Commercial district

County staff said the planning commission heard the request the previous month, discussed the application briefly and unanimously recommended approval because the property met lot-size and locational criteria. The board opened the public hearing and asked whether anyone wished to speak; no objections were recorded and a supervisor moved to approve the special-use permit, seconded by another board member. The board then voted to approve the permit.
The permit will allow a manufactured home in a Village Commercial District, a land-use classification that ordinarily requires a special permit for manufactured housing. The county noted the ordinance requires such a permit in the Village Commercial District and that the planning commission found no compelling reasons to deny the request. The applicant's name and parcel information will be entered into county records for processing and permitting.
