Lee County supervisors elect Mike Tidwell chair; board approves option for electronic agenda delivery

Mike Tidwell was elected chairman of the Lee County Board of Supervisors during the board's Jan. 20 annual meeting in Johnson, Virginia. A board member moved to elect Tidwell; the motion was seconded and the board approved the election.
The board also appointed 'Mister Flannery' to preside in the mover's absence and voted to keep the regular meeting schedule unchanged. During a rules-and-procedure discussion, a supervisor proposed an amendment to section 5-2 of the board rules to allow agendas to be delivered electronically once the county provides devices. The board approved adding an electronic-delivery option so members who choose it would not require a paper packet.
Board members reiterated logistical items for the coming year and approved routine procedural business at the meeting's start. The board recessed at the end of its business to schedule interviews for county administrator candidates on Jan. 27.
