Board ratifies local emergency declaration after snow/ice event; commends staff and volunteers

Assistant Emergency Manager Andrew Cherry summarized the county’s activation of the Emergency Operations Center and the local declaration of emergency during a large snow and ice event. Following the ratification the chair and several supervisors praised the emergency staff, volunteer groups (including the animal-shelter team and community transport partners) and local agencies for preparedness and rapid response. The board noted that additional snow was forecast and discussed continuing coordination and monitoring.
