Carmen Galvez, Thrive education specialist, and Catherine Cordova, a VCU intern, said Thrive served 54 individuals in King William County in fiscal year 2025 (31 adults and 23 children) and described services including counseling, case management, court advocacy and prevention education. Staff described a new training (Unmasking DV) beginning Oct. 1 and invited county departments, schools and community events to request presentations and tabling.
Supervisors asked for comparative statistics from previous years to track whether outreach and services are reaching more residents. The board also agreed to add a link to Thrive Virginia’s website from the county’s website to increase public access to resources.
Thrive provided a website (thriveva.org) and offered to return with additional data if the board wanted historical comparisons or expanded outreach plans.
